Programs that Make a Real Difference
YOUTH PROGRAMS
The Youth Programs of the American Legion are some of the best programs in the world. From Boy's State that teaches young men about democracy and government to visiting classrooms to share the experiences of our veterans with children. The American Legion youth programs are designed to recognize hard work of today's youth and also mentor and prepare them for adulthood.
HELPING THE HOMELESS
Our post supports is committed to helping the less fortunate and the includes the Homeless. Our post works with other non profits and businesses to get homeless people not only housed but also jobs, clothing and identification cards so that they can truly get back on their feet and become productive citizens.
SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY
Our post supports multiple programs that support the community. We support the Trinity Baptist Church Food Pantry and Rock House. In fact last year we donated over $3,000 worth of food to the food pantry. We support local nursing home by having regular visits and providing a monthly Bingo game and prizes. In addition we have adopted a local stretch of highway that we keep beautiful. You will also find us at community events and festivals supporting other organizations.
POST SERVICE OFFICER
We have a dedicated Post Service Officer that is here to address your needs. Whether it be financial assistance or help navigating the complicated VA system we can get you going in the right direction. The care of our veterans is our #1 priority so if you have an issue you need assistance please reach out to us so we can help.
VETERAN EMPOWERMENT
THERAPY PROGRAM (VETP)
Our Post has partnered with Higher Hopes Counseling to offer free local PTSD counseling for Veterans, spouses and their children. We use cutting edge therapy sessions instead of medication to treat PTSD. If you are in need please use the link below and fill out the intake form and indicate you hear about the program from the American Legion.
